In response to this challenge, we are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to provide technical leadership in the planning, design, and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure systems and integration with both traditional and non-traditional infrastructures.
Maintain and optimize a real time, scalable platform for supporting daily field operations.
Provide knowledgable high level support within multiple groups to resolve internal and external issues.
Commit to continuous learning and improving the development of multiple systems.
Can design, document, and update various processes
Determine user requirements and design specifications for cloud-based (AWS, Azure, Google Public Cloud, etc.) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) systems.
Create plans to ensure necessary maintenance to support system health performed by junior staff.
Evaluate service offerings from providers and make recommendations to customer regarding integration of these technologies into existing networks and environments.
Gather and report utilization and performance metrics pertaining to the deployed infrastructure of production system.
Provide regular status updates to the customer, program leadership, and development teams throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Assist with requirement deconstruction, collaborating on designs, and providing feedback to the O&M engineering team on new capabilities integration efforts, and recommend improvements or changes if required.
Collaborate with the external development teams to integrate new capabilities that are aligned with the overall program strategy.
BS degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security or System or Network Administration and have two (2) years of relevant experience. However, equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience with cloud computing and virtualization.
Extensive Linux experience – Ubuntu and/or RedHat.
Understanding of container management and orchestration systems such as Docker Swarm and Kubernetes.
Experience with managing and maintaining ELK (Elastic Logstash Kibana) clusters
An active TS clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.
Hands on experience with Amazon AWS; including: EC2, Load Balancers, S3, VPC, and CLI/API
Scripting in Python, Bash, Ruby, or Powershell
Linux-based routing and firewall capabilities.
Experience with other Cloud hosting and VPS providers, especially Microsoft Azure, Softlayer, Google Public Cloud, Rackspace, etc
