Program Overview
Nationwide program dedicated to maintaining IT infrastructure operations across TSA. Contract supports all US airports and 30+ US Embassy/Consulates international sites across 30 different countries where TSA is present
About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Application Support Engineering Lead with 12+ years of expertise in leading and managing a diverse team of engineers. This role requires deep technical knowledge and leadership skills to oversee Oracle Database Engineers, SQL Database Engineers, Wintel Engineers, and Unix/Solaris/Linux Engineers. The successful candidate will ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of enterprise applications while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of application support engineers, ensuring high performance and collaboration.
  • Oversee support operations for enterprise applications, ensuring uptime, reliability, and security.
  • Provide technical leadership across database (Oracle, SQL), Wintel, and Unix/Solaris/Linux environments.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for incident response, problem management, and system maintenance.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support application lifecycle management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for complex application issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and security protocols.
  • Mentor and develop engineering team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Report key performance metrics and provide strategic insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 0 years of experience or a High School diploma and 12 years of experience in application support engineering with a strong leadership background.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
  • Proven experience managing teams across multiple disciplines, including databases, Wintel, and Unix/Linux.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing enterprise applications and infrastructure.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is required/must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust/Entry On Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) preferred, not required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle Database Administration Certification.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certification.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid role based on business requirements.
  • On-call support for critical issues as needed.
  • Occasional travel for team coordination and system upgrades.

Details

Target Salary Range: $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
