Responsibilities

As a Cryptography Engineer, you will design and develop advanced technologies for critical systems, networks, and applications. Engineers work in small team settings and must successfully interact with clients, partners, and other team members in a highly cooperative, collaborative, and intellectually challenging environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Specialize in analyzing and breaking cryptographic algorithms and systems. Identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in existing encryption schemes and develop strategies to decrypt them. Assist Digital Forensic Examiners in evaluating encryption found in mobile devices and respective applications. Assist in decoding encryption schemes and reversing malicious code. Evaluate encryption or tampering of computer software and hardware. Develop scripts or code required to decrypt data. Develop applications to leverage GPU clusters. Write technical reports on findings.

 

Experience creating APIs to access cryptographic algorithms. Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, principles, techniques, and protocols. Identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in cryptographic systems.

Build and maintain secure cryptographic libraries for internal and external customers. Develops new methods, and playbooks, as well as sophisticated scripts, applications, and tools, and trains others in their use.

 

Reverse engineer software, firmware, and hardware components to understand their functionality and identify potential security flaws. Develop tools and techniques for reverse engineering and analysis.

Qualifications
  • Cryptographer- A person who can crack encryption code to gain access to data by identifying weakness in the systems.
  • Knowledge – Cryptography; Algorithms - Cryptographic, Compression, Error Correction
  • Knowledge - Specific cryptographic implementations (e.g., BitLocker, Trusted Platform Modules, Android Phone, iPhone)
  • Skills - Reverse Engineering - Intel x86; Firmware Reverse Engineering - multiple processors; Logic / Bus Analyzers
  • Understanding of cryptographic primitives and how to use crypto toolkits securely in the software stack.
  • Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and protocols
  • Experience with application architecture and systems engineering principles to include micro service architecture, application design patterns, application security, developing system requirements, system design artifacts and models.
  • Demonstrated success architecting and implementing software systems.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Proficient technical writing skills.
  • 10+ Years of experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum Clearance Requirement: Top Secret

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
