Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Cyber Exercise Planner to support the U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) Joint Cyber Center (JCC).

 

Location: South Korea 

 

The Joint Cyber Center provides leading-edge cyberspace operations capabilities in support of combined United States and Republic of Korea (ROK) operations within the Korean Theater of Operations (KTO), maintains cyberspace superiority, and performs cyberspace operations during armistice, contingencies and war.

 

As the Cyber Exercise Planner, you will:

  • Perform joint cyberspace exercise, operations, security, and IT planning and execution, design, develop, plan for, and oversee the JCC support to the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS).
  • Attend coordination meetings, conferences and Working Groups in order to support exercise design, execution, and further JCC’s training requirements and objectives with senior decision makers,
  • Conduct staff coordination by meeting with individuals and groups of exercise participants from outside the JCC to identify, coordinate, and resolve issues pertaining to unit participation.
  • De-conflict and synchronize extremely complex funding requirements, unit/Soldier support requirements, and numerous other CJCS exercise related execution and support issues.
  • Develop, revise, synchronize the Scenario Development Messages (SDM), Intelligence scripts, and Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) injects for CCPT exercises to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and synchronize with OPFOR prior to and during the execution phase of the exercise.
  • Facilitate, synchronize, coordinate, and execute White Cell functions as the lead Cyber Controller.
  • Perform all white cell battle rhythm events and brief Chief Controller, Senior Controller, and other white cell staff members during regularly scheduled briefs.
  • Facilitate and conduct initial coordination of all exercise augmentation support and conduct thorough battle handover to RSO&I team of initial exercise augmentation support planning.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelors degree, or HS and four years of relevant experience in cyber exercise planning in lieu of degree.
  • Prior cyber experience specific to the KTO.
  • Experience in performing joint cyberspace exercise, operations, security, and IT planning and execution.
  • Experience with developing, revising, synchronizing the Scenario Development Messages (SDM), Intelligence scripts, and Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) injects for CCPT exercises.
  • Be able to manage each exercise through its preparation and execution employing careful analysis of continuing changes in JCC mission training objectives and exercise requirements.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Invited Contractor status under the ROK/US Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
