Responsibilities
As our Cyber Systems Engineer you will have the opportunity to:
- Monitor, analyze, and detect cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision.
- Assists with integrated, dynamic cyber defense, coordinates and maintains security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
- Establish a framework by which cyber risk can be measured and quantified in the marketplace.
- Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
- Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; completing documentation. Verifies security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
- Maintain security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs.
- Be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of a DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments.
- Ensure that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are functional and secure. This includes designs for program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.
- Limited telework will be available after we have successfully migrated to AWS (spring 2025)
Key responsibilities include:
- Be responsible for working with the team on the migration to AWS which will include using logstash, rabbitmq, Kibanna
- This position will be on-call, but only for Elastic Search support as needed (the better the system, the less calls)
Qualifications
- Twelve (12) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science,Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required
- AWS, and System Admin or DevOps experience
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency of ElasticSearch
- Experience with ELK, Python, and Ansible is required
- Willingness to provide on-call support for Elastic Search support as needed

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
