Peraton is seeking an experienced Engineering Trainer to develop and facilitate TT&C, Satellite Mission Management, and Scheduling training programs in support of our mission critical customers and the OS/COMET COTS software product. 



  • Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel.
  • Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  • Collaborates program management and engineering to identify program needs, obtains technical data, and schedules programs.
  • Confers with management, employees, and customers to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
  • Maintain current with systems and development; taking classes, attending forums, and researching best practices to convey to the staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD.
  • Experience building technical training programs alongside software development teams.
  • Proven ability to train software developers and system users at multiple levels of proficiency.
  • Experience working with software COTS products as well as custom built applications 
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Linux versions 7.x and/or 8.x


Preferred Qualifications:

  • DevOps tools for development and CM such as Atlassian Bitbucket, Crucible, and Confluence.
  • Familiarization with the OS/COMET TT&C COTS software product
  • Experience in Satellite Ground Station Systems – Command and Control applications for complex, multi-application systems, as well as Satellite Mission Planning Software.


Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
