Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Network Engineering Manager to work at USSTRATCOM at Offutt Air Force Base, NE.
What you will do:
- Requirements analysis
- Functional analysis and synthesis of USSTRATCOM’s Network Requirements.
- Responsible for being the Networking Subject Matter Expert and leading a team in all functions related to the Network Engineering Line of Service.
- Provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) level ongoing support, addresses availability issues, overcomes performance problems and provides overall level 3 support.
- Provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) support in all areas of the network and computer hardware and software interconnections and interfaces.
- Design and plan changes to network communications systems.
- Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems, and manages tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLA requirements.
- Communicates current network specification and detailed schematics for network architecture, also provides recommendations to relevant stakeholders on improvements to the network architecture.
- Evaluates and reports to relevant stakeholders on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
- Responsible for overall staff performance of the completion of technical solutions/implementations, program support, and related activities
- Responsible for monitoring Solution’s statuses for adherence to technical performance, schedule, and cost.
- Responsible to the Operations Manager on all Networking troubleshooting to ensure problems are resolved impacting quality transmission service on the network.
- Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues, and plans to improve network availability, performance, and problem resolutions.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating system security plans on platforms.
- Implement and coordinate network policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provides technical leadership and review oversight during all network engineering activities and development reviews
- Monitors, recognizes and rewards employee achievements throughout the year
- Promotes team development and career growth opportunities
- Establish team goals and strategy to evolve the team towards best in class/industry standards from a performance and customer satisfaction standpoint
- Develops and utilizes metrics to assess effectiveness and capacity capabilities
- Resolves personnel conflicts and participate in disciplinary actions to employees (when needed)
- Monitors workloads and resource assignments needed to accomplish tasks
- Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings to provide a forum for communicating team or contract initiatives and policies, discussing current and evolving service requests, and soliciting input and concerns about team operations, processes, and initiatives
- Participates in recruiting and hiring activities as well as mentoring of new employees
- Prepares monthly Contract Deliverable Reporting document outlining team performance, trend analysis and supporting metrics
- Defines, documents, encourages use of, and evolves team Best Practices based on industry and organizational standard
Qualifications
What you will need:
- 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience
- The candidate hired for this position must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience/Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related Engineering field., Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, a minimum of 3-5 years relevant industry experience
- Or Master’s degree in computer engineering or related Engineering field., Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, a minimum of 1-3 years relevant industry experience
Required Certifications:
- DoD 8570 CSSP Infrastructure Support (CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, CND)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Desired Certifications:
- ·Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNP) – Enterprise, Data Center, or Security
Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
