Responsibilities

Senior SME RF Communications Risk Assessor  

 

Location: Rosslyn, VA. Flexible for occasional telework – must be local to work location. 

 

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SME RF Communications Risk Assessor to lead risk assessment and mitigation efforts for communications equipment, focusing on RF hardware emanations. This position requires deep expertise in government contracting and extensive experience working with State Department requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of utilizing industry standards to manage risk and enhance cybersecurity policies for IT and communications systems within government environments. 

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Become part of Peratons’ Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective, and secure business processes. 
  • Lead comprehensive telecommunications security and TEMPEST risk assessments for communications equipment, emphasizing RF hardware and emanation challenges, while ensuring compliance with government and State Department standards. 
  • Assist in evaluating and reviewing TSG-approved and TEMPEST products. 
  • Support completion of facility reviews and assists in formally documenting Telecommunications Security and TEMPEST requirements to protect against exfiltration of National Security Systems Information (NSI) and compromising emanations for National Security Systems (NSS) both domestically and overseas. 
  • Participate in working groups to provide support in maintaining the Departments adherence to telecom security compliance. 
  • Develop and refine risk management frameworks and strategies using industry-leading standards (e.g., NSA, NIST, ISO) to protect sensitive government communications systems.  
  • Collaborate with senior government and State Department officials to align security measures with strategic objectives and regulatory mandates. 
  • Design and implement advanced engineering solutions that address complex security challenges, driving innovation and best practices in the field.  
  • Provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity policies, ensuring adherence to the latest federal regulations and industry trends.  
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes, advising on proactive measures to safeguard communications infrastructure.  
  • Deliver high-level presentations, white papers, and reports on risk assessment findings, strategies, and outcomes to senior government stakeholders and executive teams.  
  • Position may require travel to government and State Department facilities. 

 

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • 12 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering, security, management studies, or related fields from an accredited university. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of telecommunications and RF emanations background in research, design, or testing.  
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build/maintain professional working relationships; be proactive with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.  
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, etc., and the ability to learn and use other software applications, e.g., Cable Express, etc. 
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Risk Analytics certification (e.g. CRMA, CCSA, PMI-RMP) within 6 months of hire. 
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain SCI. 

 

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
