Peraton has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Database (DS) Service Owner Lead for database systems management, providing contractor management, direction, administration, and leadership of the execution of his/her respective site’s requirements for the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) in support of United States (U.S.) Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The DS Service Owner Lead will be responsible for assigning tasks to contractor personnel, supervising ongoing SITEC 3 EOM technical efforts, coordinating with the USSOCOM TPOC, and managing data systems and servers performance.

The DS Service Owner Lead must be self-motivated and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally. The DS Service Owner Lead must have good management and communication skills to interact and coordinate effectively with both internal and external executive leadership teams.


The DS Service Owner Lead will be responsible for the efficiency of database systems and servers, including managing technical issues; managing and responding to Government issues, concerns, and comments; and proactively alerting the Government to performance issues. The DS Service Owner Lead will be the main interface between the USSOCOM end customers, the SITEC 3 EOM contractor, component Deputy Program Managers, and the component J6 management staff and provide input into the management activities within his/her functional area. The DS Service Owner Lead will manage Contractor and subcontractor staff, ensure staff development, and work with third-party vendors applicable to his/her site as needed. The DS Service Owner Lead is required to organize, direct, and manage all support functions applicable to database systems and servers for multiple, complex, and inter-related project tasks. Must be able to review task plans and deliverable items and manage schedules in line with budget. The DS Service Owner Lead will ensure all personnel within his/her responsibility receive adequate guidance and direction for performing their daily tasks and will be responsible for developing/presenting briefings, preparing correspondence, and submitting project status reports as required.


Typical Responsibilities include:
Experience in Database Management to provide management, direction, administration, and leadership to staff for database systems and servers for on-premises and cloud-deployed database systems. Must manage and oversee all planning, engineering, installation, configuration, and operation to maintain, defend, troubleshoot, and repair database systems and servers. Must be a subject matter expert on database systems to manage staffing in storage systems and integration with other software systems. Ensure input to database policy guidance and implement necessary changes. Types of databases could include distributed, centralized, relational, operational, hierarchical, object oriented and SQL or NoSQL. Vendors such as Oracle, Microsoft and other databases will need to be considered in approach and the ability to troubleshoot problems like HTTP errors, tablespace errors, process, instance media errors to name a few in conjunction with storage teams to ensure adequate resources are applied for smooth day to day operations. These databases will support global theatre operations in their day-to-day tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7. Additional years of experience may be considered in leiu of a degree.
  • Must possess a TS clearance with eligibility for SCI
  • Must possess certifications in one or more or commensurate of the following:
    • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for Database developers, Administrators, Consultants, Solaris, or Java programmers.
    • IBM Certified Database Administrator – DB2
    • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification (older)
    • Microsoft DP 300 / Azure
    • Must possess five (5) years of experience managing IT professionals
  • Must possess experience with site-specific logistics and technical challenges in a dynamic functional, management, and technical environment
  • Must possess experience working on a global-based, enterprise-wide project communicating with local and long-distance Government personnel
  • Must Possess experience from previous roles in Enterprise Solutioning to include servers, storage and databases.


Desired Qualifications:

• Possess experience with IT Service Delivery using an ITIL/ITSM framework similar in size, scope, and complexity to the requirements of this TO.
• Certifications in one or multiple Cloud Service Provider umbrellas: Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Azure (MicroSoft) / Other
• Experience (assigned or working with) the SOF community.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
