Responsibilities

Peraton has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Storage Service Owner Lead for storage management services. The Storage Service Owner Lead will provide contractor management, direction, administration, and leadership of the execution of his/her respective site’s requirements for the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) in support of United States (U.S.) Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).


The Storage Service Owner Lead assigns tasks to contractor personnel, supervises ongoing SITEC 3 EOM technical efforts, coordinates with the USSOCOM TPOC, and manages overall site performance. He/she will support various USSOCOM enterprise data storage resources, which involves current and future cloud storage capabilities, storage virtualization, and backup solutions. The Storage Service Owner Lead will lead Contractor efforts to operate, maintain, and defend storage resources to meet the operational needs of the USSOCOM, its Component Commands, TSOCs, and deployed forces. The Storage Service Owner Lead will manage Contractor and subcontractor staff, ensure staff development, and work with third-party vendors applicable to his/her site as needed.

 

The Storage Service Owner Lead must be self-motivated and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally. The Storage Service Owner Lead must have good management and communication skills to interact and coordinate effectively with both internal and external executive leadership teams.

 

Typical responsibilities include:


Experience in the operating, maintaining, and defending various types of storage resources including by limited to current and future cloud storage capabilities, storage virtualization, and backup solutions to manage and oversee specific tasks to meet the operational needs of the USSOCOM. Provide capacity planning, performance analysis, develop disaster recovery plans, lead efforts towards storage consolidation and identify storage growth, manage configurations of storage devices and software. Using and maintaining storage software products (Unisphere, MPIO, Powerpath, HP/3PAR IMC, SolarWinds STM). HP SAN Storage within an Enterprise environment, and experience of HP software including Command view, Thin Provisioning and Auto LUN. Provide subject matter expertise all things storage including IP-based and Fiber networking for SAN/NAS technologies while working with vendors such as NetApp, Compellent, EqualLogic, Brocade, Cisco, Pure Storage, EMC. Expand automation of our storage management leveraging NetApp and jbods under all our platforms utilizing NFS and object-based protocols. Be able to provide Capacity planning for Storage dynamic expansion and Storage auto-provisioning experience with NetApp. Experience in a Storage Engineering function in a large-scale Enterprise with a background in Storage Technologies. Organize and apply storage patching based on storage patching policy. Implementation support to design, plan, and set up applications and storage in a Unix/Linux and Windows NetApp SAN environment (disk layout, RAID levels,) to ensure performance and data availability. Planning, coordinating, and upgrading components of the Storage and SAN as needed with software, hardware, and microcode upgrades. Monitoring and analysis of statistics on storage utilization and performance.

 

It should be assumed a level of knowledge with Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) combined with Hybrid Cloud solutions will be in place and working with other platform owners/peers collaboratively on troubleshooting and innovation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS 12-15, MS 10-13, Phd 10+.  Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must possess a TS clearance with eligibility for SCI
  • Must possess five (5) years of experience managing IT professionals
  • Must possess experience with site-specific logistics and technical challenges in a dynamic functional, management, and technical environment
  • Must possess experience working on a global-based, enterprise-wide project communicating with local and long-distance Government personnel
  • Must possess certifications in one or more or commensurate of the following:
  • EMC Storage Administrator Track (EMCSA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Data Center
  • SNIA Certified Storage Networking Expert
  • NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
  • Brocade Certified Network Engineer (BCNE)
  • HP Master ASE: Storage Solutions Architect V1
  • Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) Qualified Professional Storage Administration

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

• Possess experience with IT Service Delivery using an ITIL/ITSM framework similar in size, scope, and complexity to the requirements of this TO.
• Certifications in one or multiple Cloud Service Provider umbrellas: Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Azure (MicroSoft) / Other
• Experience with leased server equipment a plus
• Experience (assigned or working with) the SOF community.

 

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
