Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Software Developer to assist the US Capitol Police (USCP), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO) in constructing enterprise dashboards. The Software developer will need to be a senior level individual well versed with SQL, scripting, batch jobs and integration techniques along with the tools listed below. This individual will be reporting and working directly with the OCAO management team.

Background

The USCP Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO) is responsible for managing and coordinating the administrative functions of USCP.  The office provides input for business and strategic planning, sets goals for the Department and individual managers, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to design, and implement administrative policies and improvements, oversee resource allocation and budgeting, and provides overarching guidance and direction for Department leadership.  The Department’s data management and reporting are currently decentralized and often manual.  While the Department uses systems of record for primary programs – such as personnel management, hiring, training, performance, inventory, etc., reporting is often maintained on individual spreadsheets.  The OCAO is seeking a softwared developer to design a management dashboard using existing USCP supported systems that will support data driven decisions and oversight of organizational health.

The OCAO aims to enhance administrative visibility and decision-making capabilities through the development and implementation of a comprehensive management dashboard.  Working within the confines of USCP systems, the contractor will provide a comprehensive management dashboard that links systems of record to management reporting tools and dashboards.  The result will provide consolidative critical metrics and data from various organizational entities and systems of record to provide real-time insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making at OCAO.

The primary objectives of this project are:

  • Identify what data is needed to support the management dashboard
  • Identify where the required data is being managed and stored.
  • Develop and deploy a management dashboard, using USCP-supported systems and sourcing from USCP systems of record, that supports USCP administrative operations and strategic initiatives. USCP-supported systems available for use include:
    • Tableau
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • ServiceNow
    • SharePoint Online
  • Provide real-time or near real-time visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Improve transparency and accountability by presenting current metrics for performance evaluation aligned with federal law enforcement priorities.

Dashboard Design and Development

  • Coordinate with OCAO Managers to identify data/reporting processes.
  • Catalog and evaluate all existing source systems and identify opportunities for data to be integrated into management dashboard.
  • Design an intuitive, user-friendly interface within USCP-supported systems that displays critical KPIs and metrics in a visually compelling manner, tailored for OCAO administrative decision-makers.
  • Implement advanced data visualization techniques (e.g., interactive dashboards, trend forecasting) to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Data Integration and Validation

  • Implement rigorous data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of dashboard metrics.
