Active Directory and Cloud Global Administrator

Peraton is seeking a skilled and proactive Active Directory and Cloud Global Administrator to oversee and manage our organization’s Active Directory (AD) and cloud-based infrastructure. This role will serve as a critical member of the IT team, ensuring the secure, efficient, and scalable operation of identity management, access control, and cloud services across our global operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AD administration, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud), and a strategic mindset to support a distributed workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Active Directory Management: Administer and maintain global AD environments, including user accounts, group policies, organizational units (OUs), and domain controllers, ensuring high availability and security.
  
  
• Cloud Administration: Manage and optimize cloud platforms (e.g., Azure AD, Microsoft 365, AWS IAM) for identity management, authentication, and resource access.
  
  
• Identity and Access Management (IAM): Implement and enforce policies for user authentication, single sign-on (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) across on-premises and cloud systems.
  
  
• Global Support: Provide Tier 4 support for AD and cloud-related issues, collaborating with regional IT teams to ensure consistent service delivery across time zones.
  
  
• Security and Compliance: Monitor and audit AD and cloud environments to ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  
  
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate routine AD and cloud administration tasks.
  
  
• Disaster Recovery: Design and test backup and recovery strategies for AD and cloud services to minimize downtime and data loss.
  Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  
  
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., security, networking, application development) to integrate AD and cloud services into broader IT initiatives.
  
  
• Capacity Planning: Assess and recommend infrastructure upgrades or migrations to support organizational growth.

This is an on-site role that can located in either the Alexandria, VA or Kearneysville, WV office.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years’ experience or Master’s degree and minimum of 6 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience
• 5+ years of experience in IT administration, with at least 3 years focused on Active Directory and cloud platforms.
• Expertise in managing enterprise-level Active Directory environments (e.g., multi-domain, multi-forest setups).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure AD, Microsoft 365, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks.
  Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, VPN).
• Experience with IAM tools and protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a global, fast-paced environment.
• U.S. Citizenship required; must have an active Secret clearance
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/Master's degrees preferred in in Computer Science, Information Technology or technical field
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent.
• Experience with hybrid AD environments (on-premises and cloud integration).
• Knowledge of ITIL frameworks or other IT service management practices.
• Familiarity with security tools (e.g., SIEM, endpoint protection) and vulnerability management.
