Responsibilities

Join our Strategic Innovation Group in Herndon, VA as an Agile Program Manager to support research and development efforts across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, and health. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Agile processes and facilitating collaboration across teams to drive project success, while driving efficiency and fostering teamwork.

 

As part of the Emerging Technologies and Solutions team, you will help guide Agile initiatives, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure that projects align with strategic objectives and deliver value to our internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Leading and managing Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
  • Coaching teams and stakeholders on Agile principles and practices to promote alignment and delivery.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define and prioritize backlogs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identifying and addressing program risks, impediments, and dependencies.
  • Monitoring and reporting on program progress, including KPIs and success metrics.
  • Facilitating communication and coordination across cross-functional teams to promote synergy and collaboration.
  • Supporting strategic initiatives by ensuring alignment between Agile delivery and organizational objectives.
  • Delivering program updates to stakeholders, including leadership, in clear and concise formats.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors and 8 years, Masters with 5 years, or Ph.D. with 3 years of experience in Agile program management, project management, or related roles.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including frameworks such as SAFe or Scrum.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools, such as GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, and/or Artifactory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage and manage diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate team collaboration and manage program dependencies.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Agile certifications, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), or equivalent.
  • Experience in coordinating Agile teams across multiple projects or value streams.
  • Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience delivering updates to leadership teams.
  • Existing security clearance.

 

Location:

  • This is a hybrid position with occasional telework allowed - strong preference for candidates local to Herndon, VA with flexibility to come on-site as needed.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
