Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Applications Programmer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.

 

Day-to-Day Work Responsibilities:

 

We are seeking an Application Modernization Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in a collaborative effort with our partner to transform the source code of a legacy application from Natural, Cobol, and VB.Net to C#. While the majority of the code will undergo automated conversion, a subset will require manual intervention.

  • Collaborate with application programmers, Business Analysts, testing teams, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to address and resolve gaps in the converted code.
  • Implement agile methodologies and leverage DevOps tools to streamline the development and operational processes.
  • Participate actively in daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps.
  • Automate development and operational tasks using DevOps tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of related experience or a Master’s degree and 3-5 years of related experience or a High School Diploma and 9+ years of experience.
  • US Citizen or Green Card (Permanency Residency) status required
  • Experience in applications programming (web, mobile, desktop etc.)
  • Experience with agile methods and DevOps tools
  • Experience with C#
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Java, Powershell or Ruby etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a cloud environment
  • Knowledge of Natural or JCL

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
