Responsibilities

Peraton is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for our AWS AI Infrastructure Engineer position on the DHS DCCO program. This person is responsible for all phases of development and modernization, in support of a government multi-cloud environment with 50+ customer tenants and growing. This person must have extensive experience architecting robust infrastructure that supports various AI solutions, deploying those solutions across the platform, and providing ongoing support for tenants using the environment.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, develop, and enhance a scalable infrastructure platform in AWS to support machine learning and AI workloads
  • Implement best practices for AWS cloud architecture, security, performance, and high availability
  • Integrate and configure key AWS Services, including AWS SageMaker, AWS Lambda, Amazon Bedrock, and other AI workloads
  • Implement and deploy AWS AI solutions across the platform to meet tenant requirements
  • Collaborate with development and data science teams to operationalize machine learning models and AI services such as SageMaker and AWS Deep Learning AMIs
  • Automate deployment of AI Services using GitLab/GitLab CI, or other CI/CD tools.
  • Continuously monitor the health, performance, and security of the AI platform using tools like Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Security Hub, and AWS Config
  • Support tenants in troubleshooting, optimizing workloads, and resolving issues as they onboard and scale within the environment
  • Provide ongoing platform support and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests
  • Identify areas for performance improvement in the AI infrastructure and purpose optimization solutions
  • Implement patching, updates, and enhancements to ensure the platform remains current and secure
  • Develop automation scripts to manage cloud infrastructure and improve operational efficiency
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years experience, master's degree with 6+ years experience or high school diploma/GED with 12+ years experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and monitoring AWS Infrastructure
  • Experience implementing AWS AI/ML solutions and model deployment
  • Familiarity with managing systems in the cloud and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience with AI/ML Frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and system architecture.
  • Certifications required: AWS Certified Solutions Acrchitect and AWS Certified Machine Learning or equivalent.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
