AWS Cloud Engineer

Peraton is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer for a role based out of Fairfax, VA. For this position we are looking for an engineer with hands-on AWS/Terraform/CloudFormation experience to develop and support Mission Critical applications in support of the Intelligence Community.

• Planning, designing and developing cloud-based applications
• Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
• Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems
• Assist sponsor with evaluating new cloud technologies as they become available in enterprise
• Back up data via snapshots and restore data to a new EBS volume
• Collaborate with other developers and engineers to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions
• Configure and maintain cloud watch events to monitor and alert when problems arrive in dev, test, and prod
• Configure and monitor Linux installations including standard Linux utilities such as netstat, grep, scripting, vi, and sblk
• Creating S3 buckets and storing files, documents, HTML statis pages, and permissions
• Request DNS via enterprise standard procedures
• Update SSL server certs for AWS RDS database via CLI
• Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems and solution in accordance with best practice

Required

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required
• BS/BA degree with 5 years of experience, or MS/MA degree with 3 years
• 4 years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of a BS/BA degree
• Hands on AWS experience (tools such as SNS/SQS, Lambda, VPC, S3, etc.)
• Familiarity automating AWS infrastructure (Jenkins, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.)
• Experience working in an Agile environment

• AWS Certifications
• Java or Python experience
• Working knowledge of SecDevOps
• Hands on CI/CD experience
