Responsibilities

 

We are hiring! We are looking for an AWS Cloud/Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). This qualified individual will support AWS Cloud database services such as Oracle RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL RDS, PostgreSQL RDS, AWS Redshift and on-premises Oracle RAC clusters. The AWS Cloud/Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will have a good understanding of Relational Database concepts, implementing appropriate stand up/configuration maintenance/upgrade/migration/incident/DR activities for various relational databases. The AWS Cloud/Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) requires good communication skill working within a DBA Team in an environment with the client and other contracting companies.

 What you will do:

  • Participate in production Database 24x7 on call support
  • Create databases, space allocation, ASM management
  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain database security and audit solutions
  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain database recovery solutions
  • Coordinate patch management activities and plan/implement DB upgrade activities when appropriate
  • Manage database performance, capacity and availability
  • DBMS SW implementation, upgrade, patching
  • Use best practices, work plans, checklists and defined processes
  • Maintain Security Compliance Checklists by specific security standard
  • Remediation of security hardening pertaining to DISA STIG, SCSEM, CIS, NIST standards
  • Document Variations or False Positive security deviations
  • Remediation of database system vulnerabilities related Nessus Security Center scans
  • Participate in project technical reviews and lead work product reviews
  • Develop and maintain database support documentation
  • Monitor database environments and proactively identify and prevent incidents
  • Take ownership of complex database incidents and problems, providing resolutions in a timely manner
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years with BS/BA;  Additional  4 years of relevant experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
  • AWS RDS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL) OR AWS Redshift configuration and operational experience
  • Oracle 19c RAC/ASM experience
  • Oracle Grid/RDBMS upgrade experience
  • Database hardening (DISA STIG, etc.), ability to document variances/false positives, maintain security configuration checklist
  • Self-starter, leading and driving database hardening and security remediation
  • OEM (EM Cloud Control) experience preferred
  • Linux experience
  • Scripting in KSH and Perl required
  • SQL Plus/DBeaver/pgAdmin experience
  • Experience working with VLDB databases including partitioning
  • Patching experience (Patch set updates and release updates)
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a level 6C Security Clearance

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Active Public trust Clearance
  • Active Secret Clearance is a plus

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
