Responsibilities

We are Hiring! Our CDC Program is looking for a Business Systems Analyst. This qualified individual will join our high functioning tecnical team. The qualified applicant should have a background in Health Communications will work closely with the customers in gathering and documenting their requirements.

 

What you will do:

  • Performs work on all aspects of the system analysis process from end to end of the software development lifecycle
  • Elicit requirements from subject matter experts using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios and workflow analysis.
  • Conceptualizes new systems or modules by facilitating requirements sessions, collecting and analyzing requirements; constructing process flow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications and documenting business rules.
  • Defines, documents and translates business requirements into detailed functional specifications taking into account non-functional requirements.
  • Work closely with business SMEs and collaborate with the development team, enterprise architect and the project manager in all aspects of system design and development to develop functional solutions that meet business needs and are aligned with the architectural roadmap as established by the architecture team.
  • Supports development team by translating requirements and use cases into a specification, sample screen design, flowcharts, logical data models and security design models.
  • Supports testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance and user acceptance.
  • Responsible for maintaining all assigned business systems documentation.
  • Triage, log, and track requests for customer requests for new features, enhancements to be implemented in the systems.
  • Analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: use cases, user stories, functional and non-functional requirements including but not limited to usability, performance, supportability, security, interface requirements and assumptions/constraints; Business Process Models, Data Flow Diagrams, System Process Models, and Traceability Matrix.
  • Verify and track satisfaction of requirements in delivered solution through acceptance testing.
  • Supports and contributes to project management activities by participating in the scoping and estimating of project eefforts, risks identification and mitigation measures recommendation.
  • Serves as a consultant to management, to senior management and customers.
Qualifications

Required  Qualifications:

  • 5 years with BS/BA.  Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
  • Experience working in an agile / iterative development environment
  • Demonstrated experience with systems and applications development projects supported by the team including system components, functionality, interfaces, data flows, and business rule
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting/writing communication content, materials, and products
  • Demonstrated experience in translating technical content into formats written in plain language and easy to understand
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize end user issues/requests
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business Analyst Certification
  • Masters Degree is a plus
  • Knowledge of CDC culture, mission, and IT environment
  • Experience leading requirements efforts for big projects at CDC
  • Experience working within an agile/iterative development methodology
  • Experience working with the CDC Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) methodology
  • Experience with analysis, visualization and reporting software and capabilities.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
