Hybrid Cloud Datacenter Automation Developer
Location: Onsite in Kansas City, Missouri; Quantico MCB, Virginia; Camp Lejuene, NC
Overview:
We are seeking a Datacenter Automation Developer to:
- Support US Marine Corps (USMC) enterprise-level hybrid cloud data center engineering, operations and cybersecurity requirements
- Enable USMC world-wide customers to execute critical missions
What you will do:
As a Hybrid Cloud Datacenter Automation Developer you will enable capabilities for secure cloud infrastructure operations. Automation enables multiple aspects of the USMC hybrid-cloud enterprise datacenter platform from management and monitoring to deployment and operations. Your responsibilities ensure successful and secure operations of a multi-cloud on-prem and cloud-hosted enterprise capability supporting worldwide USMC customers.
As a Datacenter Systems Automation Developer you will be responsible for
- Creation and testing of automation capabilities for data center operations.
- Developing capabilities using current and future tools such as Azure and AWS IL4 and IL5 native tools as well as VMware Aria Operations Suite.
- Enabling infrastructure deployments, repeatable operational tasks and creation and maintenance of a self-service portal as well as additional customer and operationally required automation capabilities
- Independently developing, testing, deploying data center automation capabilities including use of scripting, restAPI and HTML to enable automated data center operations via on-prem capabiities, containerization, and in AWS and Azure hosting environments.
- Support automation requirements for data center operations and enable hosting customer automation capabilities.
- Scripting automation requirements using available scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python
- Research new and emergent automation capabilities to identify new opportunities to make hybrid-cloud datacenter operations more efficient, effective, and consistent
Qualifications
Required
- BS/BA with 8 years; 6 with MS/MA, or 3 years with PhD, Will consider HS with 12 years experience.
- Senior level experience with IT and datacenter operations including VMware vSphere – VMware Data Center Virtualization fundamentals
- 2-3 years of datacenter automation development experience
- Experience with Azure or AWS native automation capabilities
- Experience with VMware Aria Operations suite, or other datacenter automation tools
- Proficiency with different programming/scripting languages, including JavaScript, bash, PowerShell, PowerCLI, and Python, experience with RESTful APIs,
- Experience administering or automating work in Azure or AWS native environments
- Fundamental understanding of ITIL Processes and use of an enterprise ticketing solution such as BMC Remedy
- Azure Fundamentals or AWS Foundations training or certifications
- Experience integrating engineering and operations tasks via Agile project management
- IAT Level II Certification
- US Citizen
- US Secret clearance/Tier 3 investigation
Preferred:
- Azure or AWS Administrator certifications
- VCP Certification
- Completion of VMware Aria Operations suite and PowerCLI course
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience
Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
