Responsibilities
Peraton is now hiring a Cloud Engineer (network) Chantilly, VA to support Intelligence Community and DoD customers as part of a talented, high-performing team. As part of this team you will work with emerging service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness (SSA) data processing and distribution.
The Skyfire program, a next gen Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, establishes a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), finds RSOs of interest, and provides data to ground operators. The Skyfire team uses: programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system.
What you'll do:
- Work with teams across Group and customers to understand cloud networking requirements for upcoming projects; develop and document Wide Area Networks (WANs) / Local Area Networks (LANs)
- Design and implement automation through scripting and other techniques to implement cloud network infrastructure and improve operational efficiencies.
- Create network architectures and designs that are highly available and scalable for new customers systems and solutions to meet defined requirements
- Create network designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continual improvement of cloud network services
- Evaluate and recommend potential cloud networking solutions for inclusion into customer cloud service offerings and application migration solutions; participate in the procurement of network devices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree and ten (10+) years of relevant experience; OR Bachelors degree with eight (8+) years of relevant experience; OR Masters degree with six (6+) years of relevant experience. Four (4) additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree.
- This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request- contract requires TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification, or be working towards obtaining it.
- Experience developing and supporting system engineering processes across the entire system lifecycle to include the analysis, planning, design, development, deployment, integration, test, or configuration of software.
- Experience utilizing Ansible for deployment purposes.
- 3+ years experience with DevSecOps utilizing CI/CD.
- Experience using Linux Command Line Interface (RHEL).
- Experience with Git/GitLab.
- Experience with Jenkins.
- Experience with IaaS, AWS Preferred.
- Experience with Rancher, Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with scripting, python or bash preferred.
- Experience using Atlassian tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
- Working knowledge of cloud services in PaaS, Saas, and IaaS as well as trends in the cloud space.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with AWS, certification preferred.
- Strong analytic and research skills – must be detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency.
- Effectively interact with other personnel across programs.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Experience working with the Amazon Web Services Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI).
- Familiarity with Agile SAFe 5.0 methodology.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and with stakeholders.

Target Salary Range
$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
