Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Configuration and Asset Analyst to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. 

 

Must be local to the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. 

 

The Configuration and Asset Analyst performs Hardware and Software Asset analysis for multiple clients and is responsible for reporting on the quality and control of Configuration Item (CI) data. In this capacity, the analysts executes CMDB verification and audit activities, compliancy checks, and generate Configuration/Asset Management related reports and baselines in support of Configuration Managers and CI Owners across the organization. The Analyst will coordinate with other teams to identify and analyze root cause of Database errors (exceptions), reconcile the discrepancies, and ensure root cause is resolved and error generation are eliminated.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Configure and optimize parameters for routine maintenance of Configuration Items (CIs) to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Associate and manage CIs and CI groups within the established schema for streamlined asset tracking.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of CIs, including initialization, updates, and decommissioning, to maintain system integrity.
  • Gather and analyze real-time data to assess the current state of CIs and identify potential issues.
  • Manage and document significant changes in the condition or status of CIs to support accurate configuration management.
  • Conduct regular data verification audits to uphold accuracy and compliance with system standards.
  • Track and document asset installations, relocations, or decommissions to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Monitor task queues to ensure timely completion of activities and identify bottlenecks for resolution.
  • Actively participate in project meetings to align configuration management efforts with broader objectives.
  • Coordinate the receiving and shipping of assets as needed to support operational and project requirements.
 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 9 years of experience in information technology
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Foundational knowledge of CMDB (Configuration Management Database) principles, processes, and IT Asset Management.
  • Experience supporting both hardware and software tools within a data center environment.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles, particularly Configuration Management and Asset Management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of databases (e.g., MS Access) is a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods as required.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience.
  • Experience using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy) for managing configuration items and assets.

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
