Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Security SME to join our innovative engineering team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will provide objective advice, expertise and specialized skills in, but not limited to, supporting projects related to the individual's subject matter expertise or functional domain. This position will Lead special projects or investigations into specific technology or solution issues and to shepherd research and piloting of new technologies. This role is pivotal in driving our efforts in one or more phases of software systems development, systems integration, or network engineering critical to the USPS program's mission.

 

Required to be local to Washington, DC area. Remote work allowed.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a point of contact for engineering efforts and has overall responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the customer's private enclave while maintaining compliance with the customer's enterprise-wide architecture policies and guidelines.
  • Work as a recognized authority on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative.
  • Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
  • Provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
  • Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establishes system security designs as required.
  • Design, develop, implement and/or integrate IA and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments to include those with multiple enclaves and with differing data protection/classification requirements.
  • Build IA into systems deployed to operational environments.
  • Prepare and deliver analysis and presentations to colleagues, subordinates, and USPS representatives. 
  • Assure the proper use of current or requested engineering, configuring, programming, testing, and documentation techniques.
  • Produce and/or review documentation and reports reflecting knowledge of areas. 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 16 years' work experience or Master’s degree with 14 years' work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • U.S Citizenship or Green Card holder.
    • Residing in the U.S for the past five years with no more than 6 months travel outside the U.S. during this time frame.
    • Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members)
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing and/or integrating IA and security systems and system components.
  • Experience with validating and verifying system security requirements definitions and analysis, along with establishing system security designs.
  • Experience building IA into systems.

 Certifications of at least ONE or more of the following required:

  • CompTIA Net+
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Security +
  • Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
  • ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security
  • Certified Penetration Testing Engineer (CPTE)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE)
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
