Responsibilities
We are interview candidadtes for our Cyber Systems Engineer role who will have the opportunity to:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the data flows and data storage in a Cloud Based Warehouse
- Monitor, analyzes, and detects cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision.
- Assist with integrated, dynamic cyber defense, coordinates and maintains security toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
- Establish a framework by which cyber risk can be measured and quantified in the marketplace.
- Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
- Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; completing documentation.
- Verify security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
- Maintain security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs.
- Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of a DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments.
- Ensure that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are functional and secure. This includes designs for program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.
- Status senior leadership and systems engineers on the progress of critical activities and overall system status, and provide strategic data ingest/storage recommendations
- Lead and coordinate high level customer meetings, provide official agendas/minutes, and ensure proper attendees are at meetings to make a decision
- Assist in discussions and approaches to efficiently store data in a compliant manner, ensure data integrity, integrate/migrate legacy data into modern formats, and work to reduce redundant/unneeded data coming into the system
- Lead system re-certification activities, provide evidence/artifacts, and work with all parties to achieve approval
- Provide hands on support and utilize custom tools/scripts to discover data based on unique search criteria and remark/preserve/remove data using custom tools on millions/billions of records
- Provide senior systems engineering support to Transition & Decommissioning activities and large requirements, support historical data migrations, support various data issues and incident investigations, and support ad hoc customer tasking/actions on a daily basis
- Lead/manage ticket reviews, ticket queues, work with users, and provide ad hoc Scrum Master support when needed.
- Work with developers to design/coordinate/execute the delivery of capabilities and software dependencies in the various systems/sub-systems. Ability to work and guide developers, and provide Acceptance Criteria and test procedures
- Mentor/Coach junior system engineers and provide backup support when needed
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Education: Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems,
Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. - Experience defining requirements, creating architecture diagrams, creating a plan/schedule, and leading the development of large capabilities across multiple systems and external dependencies
- Compliance experience and Incident Reporting experience
- Experience with using modern Query and Presentation Tools
- Experience using JIRA/Confluence and creating/modifying spaces and projects

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
