Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced and accomplished Cyber Systems Engineer to support fast-paced operational projects.  Specifically, the candidate will support a large-scale R&D and acquisition effort involving transition and refinement of technologies, development of new technologies, standing up new contracts, managing integration, target development and support, and coordination with many stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate will work with senior management, technical project directors, systems engineers, customer stakeholders, mission partners, and development contractors to ensure systems are deployed properly and maintained throughout the mission lifecycle. The candidate will provide cross-organizational coordination for project management support to projects in a dynamic environment to develop budget plans, project plans, resource plans, logistics, requirements, and architecture design of complex systems. The candidate will be responsible for inputs on schedule data calls, maintain monthly budget and status request and reports, and weekly highlights.

 

Examples of duties include but not limited to:

 

Technical Job Duties:

  • Assist in the development of the program's technical strategy.
  • Coordinate and track active mission planning, CONOPs, and integration exercises with partners.
  • Provide proactive assessments of vendor's Integrated Master Schedule, identifying and tracking critical path of development activities, and documenting and driving action items to completion.
  • Interface with operations teams, both formally and informally on behalf of the program to understand current and future operational requirements.
  • Identify program and technical risks; work with COTRs and project leads to mitigate and address these risks.

 

Project Management Job Duties:

  • Assist with planning, facilitating, and supporting offsite quarterly meetings.
  • Detailed note taking.
  • Work across organizational boundaries to develop operational relationships.
  • Coordinating operational test and training activities.
  • Program procurement and logistics management.
  • Resolve issues through TEMs, cross-organizational coordination, and other appropriate methods.
  • Provided input to several organization-wide processes.
  • Inform senior management through monthly status reports, budget reports and requests, and weekly highlights.
  • Domestic travel up to 1 to 2 times per month may be necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.

 

 

 

Required Programmatic and Technical Skills:

  • Proactively organize disparate information, identify underlying themes, synthesize key messages, and generate communication aides such as reports, briefings, and strategic plans.
  • Familiarity with operational tempo of the customer and understand the unique constraints associated with operational systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Strong project management skills to include cost/schedule/risk planning.
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills.
  • Experience writing technical requirements, statements of work, etc.
  • Experience supporting acquisition process.
  • Experience briefing technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience capturing minutes and tracking action items to completion.
  • Be a team player and partner with engineering and operations integrators across the organization to achieve the mission.
  • Work across organizational boundaries.

Desired Skills:

  • Customer-specific domain knowledge
  • PMP Certification

Experience and Education: 

  • Prior customer experience.

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with  POLY

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
