Peraton is currently seeking a Data Curation and Quality Control Specialist at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. This position works on development of a database of global geological and geophysical properties as a part of a marine geology and geophysics team. These datasets are utilized in a variety of machine learning or modeling frameworks which will provide estimates of relevant information to a variety of Navy and external efforts. This detail-oriented role will play a critical part in sourcing, organizing, and structuring datasets that will form the foundation for database development.
This position will work as part of a research team formatting and curating a wide variety of 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D geological and geophysical datasets (e.g., CSV, PDF, SEG-Y, LAS, NETCDF) as a part of a Geology and Geophysics research group at the US Naval Reseach Laboratory. The work will involve harvesting valuable data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy, and formatting it for seamless integration into a database framework. This position offers an opportunity to develop expertise in data management, data curation, and contribute to impactful projects while working closely with a dynamic and collaborative research team.
