In this role, you will oversee and enhance Peraton's social media presence, implementing our social media strategy. You will collaborate with colleagues across departments and with our agency partners to develop impactful content campaigns. Additionally, you will explore and define optimal strategies for utilizing emerging media platforms. Ultimately, you will serve as the subject matter expert on digital content, content marketing, emerging media, and social media at Peraton.
What You Will Do:
- Elevate Peraton’s Social Presence: Build upon the progress achieved in our social media channels to energize, engage, and inspire target audiences, enhancing brand awareness and affinity.
- Provide Constructive Feedback: Collaborate with management and agencies to continually refine and evolve Peraton’s social media strategy.
- Develop a Data-Driven Content Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive content strategy informed by data analysis.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with sector communications leads and business leaders to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
- Expand Video and Emerging Media Use: Significantly increase the integration of video and emerging media across social media platforms.
- Drive Audience Engagement: Create compelling content independently and collaboratively with fellow creatives and agencies to foster audience interaction.
- Enhance Brand Awareness: Grow Peraton’s brand visibility and provide data-driven insights to stakeholders.
- Capture Content at Events: Attend in-person events to gather and create engaging content.
- Manage Social Media Platforms: Oversee Peraton’s social media channels, establish a content calendar 6-12 months in advance, and execute content creation and distribution.
- Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the subject matter expert on social media and digital advertising, providing guidance and support across the corporate team.
- SEO Expertise: Utilize SEO strategies to enhance content visibility and reach.
- Track and Analyze Metrics: Monitor, evaluate, and report on relevant metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Lead the Internal Social Media Council: Operate as the subject matter expert for social media within the corporate team, facilitating discussions and strategies.
Qualifications
Required
- Extensive Experience: A Bachelors degree and a minimum of 12 years managing social content strategy, content creation, execution, and campaigns within the aerospace, defense, or national security sectors. Additional experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- Social Media Management Expertise: At least 5 years of experience utilizing Sprout Social, Sprinklr, or similar social media management and reporting tools.
- Creative Proficiency: Over 5 years of experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly in Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong written and visual communication abilities, along with effective presentation skills.
- Portfolio Submission: A portfolio showcasing implemented campaigns and content that demonstrates your qualifications for this role.
- Platform Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and Glassdoor.
- Trend Awareness: Commitment to staying current with the latest trends and evolving platform algorithms.
- Travel Availability: Willingness to travel up to 50% for in-person company functions, external events, and other engagements.
- Be able to be in the Peraton office at least 2-3 days a week, working remotely the remainder of the work week.
Desired
- Government Contracting Experience: Familiarity with the government contracting landscape.
- Agency Background: Experience in an advertising, public relations, or marketing agency setting.
- Journalistic Approach: A mindset oriented towards journalistic principles and practices.
Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
