Peraton Space Technology Services (STS) is the prime contractor on the Environmental Test and Integration Services III (ETIS III) contract at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).  We support the GSFC Engineering and Technology Directorate’s Mechanical Systems Division in Greenbelt, Maryland. We provide facility operations and maintenance as well as integration and testing to support spaceflight hardware development. 

 

The GSFC Environmental Test and Integration Facilities ensure spacecraft and flight experiments will withstand the rigors of launch and will operate properly in the space environment. In addition to operations, these technical facilities have on-going goals of advancing the state-of-the-art in the development of improved space flight systems. The GSFC Environmental Test and Integration Facilities are one of the most complete and comprehensive space hardware test complexes within the United States Government.

 

Join our dynamic and diverse Peraton Technology Services Team on site, at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), as an Engineering Technician. 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Conducting Electro-Magnetic testing in EMI Chambers and Magnetic Coil Sites.
  • Following Test Standards, provide technical support to engineers on a test setups. 
  • Analyze technical data to determine applicability to design problems; participate in selecting equipment parts sand test apparatus.
  • Set-up complex test configurations.  Working with Engineers and other technical experts to modify Test Facilities to improve test operations. 
  • Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
  • Assembles electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Sets up and operates test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and records results.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate of Sciences degree with one year of experience or in lieu of degree high school and four or more years of experience.
  • Training or direct experience with micro controllers, PLC Operations, Variable Frequency Drive Motors and their programming languages
  • Basic troubleshooting skills (Electrical and mechanical)
  • Basic electrical and electronic circuit knowledge
  • Reading and drawing electronic schematics
  • Understanding of Electro-magnetic Fields and basic instrumentation to measure them
  • Experience with 3d Printing

Must be a US citizen and able to pass a background check and drug screening. Must be able to obtain a NASA badge.

 

 Desired Qualifications:

  • Prefer College Level Classes in Electronics Design and working knowledge of Java, MatLab and C# programming
  • Prefer Direct Experience with EMI and Magnetic Testing
