Responsibilities
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Design, install (pulling, terminating & testing), and maintain structured cabling systems for data and voice networks.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of cabling infrastructure.
- Perform regular inspections and testing of cabling systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues as it relates to Network Services.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support network expansion and upgrades.
- Provide onsite and remote IT support for office relocations, consolidations, renovations and space reductions.
- Provide network configuration support including maintaining a telecom circuit inventory, including addresses and configuration information for all sites and services.
- Working together and in partnership with WAN and Internet services providers for circuit ordering, provisioning, activations, upgrades, maintenance, and management.
- Provide input for coordination and management for IT office installations and relocations.
- Attend space meetings to support regions with IT projects.
- Coordinate and support network activation and equipment installation.
- Monitor and maintain cooling systems installed in all Datacom closets containing network equipment throughout the country.
- Ability to provide after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
- U.S. Citizenship; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Experience and understanding low voltage CAT 6 and fiber cabling.
- Experience and understanding of LAN/WAN topology.
- Experience with MS Windows and Office 365.
- Experience troubleshooting related network equipment installation and resolving issues during off-work hours and/or extended hours when outages or projects required.
- Experience conveying technical concepts to non-technical management to cross functional teams and management.
Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
