Responsibilities

This position is an integral member of the Cyber Mission / Cyber Intel Systems and Peraton Labs Network Systems team supporting a customer site location with responsibilities to maintain information systems and their appropriate security posture. This position requires full time on-site work in College Park, Maryland.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintain, assess, and enhance the security posture of a complex and diverse development environment
  • Design, develop, implement, and validate best practice security configuration on computers, servers, and network equipment
  • Coordinate with system administrators to assist in the development of appropriate information security functionality
  • Regularly assess and develop mitigation strategies for system security risks
  • Ensure Government security procedures and policies are maintained across information systems
  • Design, develop, and document internal policies and procedures for system administrators and information system users
  • Ensure all required accreditations and certifications are obtained and/or maintained across all information systems
  • Support ISSM to perform audit tasks as needed
  • Maintain a working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with six (6) years' experience, OR a Master's Degree with four (4) years' experience, OR a Ph.D with zero (0) years’ experience.
  • Four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • IASAE Level II: CASP+ CE OR CISSP (or Associate) OR CSSLP certification
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server system administration as well as network engineering.
  • Knowledge of security engineering duties to include designing, developing, delivering, and assessing security solutions for IT and telecommunications systems.
  • Experience applying knowledge of Government security policies and procedures to the development of secure information systems and networking environment.
  • Experience assessing and validating the security posture of an information system including assessing and mitigating risk.
  • Ability to work complex projects as a senior contributor within a development team consisting of customer and subcontractor personnel.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working directly with customers, technical staff and subcontractor personnel.
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of modern computer network operations and capability development processes
  • Experience with operational mission partners in the MD footprint
  • Solid understanding of the basic principles of modern computer networking, including hardware, software, associated tools, protocols, and Internet architecture
  • Experience with the management and execution of large-scale software development and sustainment effort(s)
  • Experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships in all levels of the organization

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
