Responsibilities
We are hiring a Linux and Patching Security Systems Administrator for our Air Force Modernization program at either Scott AFB or Hanscom AFB.
What you'll do:
- Installation, monitoring, testing, troubleshooting, and administration of the ACAS/Nessus Vulnerability Scanner applications within a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems and first party patches.
- Troubleshoot Tenable Security Center on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system level with little to no oversight.
- Complete PKI certificate installation and maintenance on Linux systems in according to DoD standards.
- Assist with program patching service engineering and troubleshooting
- Assist with program patching tool package and deployment.
- Assist with program patching tool processes and configurations
- Security process continual improvement collaboration, documentation, review, and management
- Review of system vulnerability and STIG reports for compliance management
- Security process tracking, documentation, and periodic recurring report management
- Risk Management Framework required documentation support
- eMASS package support to include Plan of Action and Milestones management
- Other security department and leadership project support
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, in lieu of degree, 12 years of applicable experience will be acceptable.
What you'll need:
- Experience Linux-based (RHEL) operating systems support with experience in mid-to-large enterprise data center environments, familiarity with network patching/update management.
- Experience with virtualized environments (VMware, vSphere, ESXi)
- Experience with DoD STIGS, IA Tools (Host Based Security System), and Risk Management Framework
- Experience with security process management and documentation
- Experience with task coordination and management
Desired experience:
- Solid IA background
- Linux+, LPIC, or RHEL certifications
Required qualifications:
- Currently possess DOD 8570, IAT Level II Security+ certification or equivalent
- Currently possess a DoD SECRET security clearance or higher
Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
