Logistics Support (GUAM) / Space Communications

Peraton is currently seeking a Logistics Specialist to support NASA at the Guam Remote Site (GRS) located on Camp Blaz, Guam. 

Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at GRS. GRS is one of four operational and diverse ground terminals that comprise the NASA Space Relay (SR) Ground Segment. GRS provides the Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TTC) link for two Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) and associated equipment and data paths for missions supported through the SR.  GRS through the NASA White Sands Complex serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe. 

This position will be responsible for: 

• Managing the Property and Logistics functions for the SR at GRS
• Provide logistics support for tracking, shipping, and receiving of SR hardware and software to include Space Ground Link Terminals at GRS
• Coordinate shipping and receipt operations through DHL, FEDEX, CTSI
• Providing requisitioning and local procurement for the SR
• Provides for the logistics of all Government furnished resources to ensure continued service, delivery at required performance levels and reasonable retention of Government property value
• Manage, research, procure, ship, and control all property owned, leased, or acquired by the Government under the terms of the contract. Manage government property and perform logistics in accordance with the documents in the Applicable Documents table
• Process transfer documentation for controlled equipment and material
• Process receipts of property and material into the MAXIMO database
• Preform property and material Inventories
• Process excess NASA property and materials

Required Experience: 

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and 2+ years of related experience; in lieu of degree, 6+ years of experience is allowable. 
• MAXIMO database management
• Forklift experience and certification
• Work Environment – primarily day shift work which includes exposure to cold, noise and LMTs who perform shift work
  • Must be able to perform tasks under certain time and resource constraints, in difficult surroundings, or conditions for GRS recovery operations
  • Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts
• Must possess and maintain a valid United States driver’s license.
• Must be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
• Security clearance – Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

Desired Experience:  

• An active SECRET security clearance
• Prior experience with NASA
