Responsibilities

We are hiring a Program Manager for a new program in San Diego, CA. Work will be performed onsite.

 

This role will have the opportunity deal with Naval Marine Mammal programs.  Training dolphins and sealions to assist the Navy with mine counter measures.

 

What you will do:

  • Supervise and coordinate the training of marine mammals (dolphins, sea lions) to perform tasks
  • Manage teams of animal handlers, trainers, and veterinary staff to ensure proper care and handling of marine mammals
  • Oversee boat operations and dive teams that transport and deploy marine mammals for training exercises and real-world operations
  • Ensure all program activities comply with applicable environmental regulations, safety protocols, and ethical treatment standards for marine mammals
  • Develop and manage program budgets, schedules, personnel management, and procurement of equipment/resources
  • Coordinate with Navy leadership and other military/government agencies on program requirements and mission planning
  • Analyze program performance metrics and write operational reports, proposals, and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to implement new technologies or methodologies to enhance program capabilities
Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • Clearance: DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Education: BS/BA  must be in Biology, Marine Science, Animal Science or related field
  • 6 years experience with marine mammals programs
  • Knowledge of diving operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years experience with Marine Mammals programs
  • Certified Diver

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
