Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Software Test Automation Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Lanham, Maryland with an option to telework partially.

 

What you will do:

  • Conduct functional and/or integration testing of multiple programs in an IBM mainframe or client/server environment.
  • Proactively identify use cases for test automation within supported projects.
  • Lead development of test automation solutions and frameworks.
  • Use test automation tools to execute test scripts that validate functional, technical, and performance requirements.
  • Use Government or Contractor-developed documentation to construct test cases with predetermined results and test data to verify program functionality and/or interfaces through assigned systems.
  • Review output to determine whether or not the test results fulfill the established requirements, and if necessary, notify the responsible programmers, both verbally and in writing, of errors, omissions, and inconsistencies in the programs and/or documentation.
  • Coordinate test activities with project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing.
  • Train other contractor or government personnel in use of automated testing tools.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years with BS/BA;  Additional 4 years years of relevant work experience in the IT field will be accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • At least 5 years of software testing experience.
  • Software test automation experience using test automation tools including but not limited to: Selenium, QTP, HP-UFT, Rational Functional Tester, or other test automation tools.
  • Must have knowledge and experience working with and supporting the development of an overall test Plan and tailored test plans for each release.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive reports on testing progress/issues and remedial action.
  • Experience leading and assisting junior Test Engineers.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green card holder- must have 3 or more US residency)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an MBI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the following skills will be considered a significant plus in considering prospective candidates:
  • Current active IRS MBI Clearance strongly preferred
  • Exposure to wide automation concepts, framework & best practices from industry in automating mainframe and web applications
  • Demonstrated experience in designing & implementing customized test automation frameworks as needed.
  • Experience with IBM Mainframe or Unisys Mainframe applications and operations
  • Market knowledge of various classes of test automation tools, including low code/code free automated testing tools
  • Experience working with the federal government
  • Knowledge of current IRS tax administration software applications is a significant plus.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
