Responsibilities

Peraton currently is seeking an experienced Mobile Software Engineer to provide support to a Department of Defense organization. 

 

Location: Remote. *This is a full-time remote/telework opportunity.

 

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with the lead engineer.
  • Assist front-end developers in ensuring an intuitive user interface.
  • Create and maintain mobile code, Android (Kotlin) primarily.
  • Create user interfaces through designing software interfaces, navigation, and information arrangement.
  • Make suggestions for and practice new technologies to improve and simplify program functionality.
  • Perform code reviews and provide feedback.
  • Support testing and debugging.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an MS and 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and up to 2 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. 
  • Degree in Computer Science or a closely linked discipline.
  • Exhibited best practices for front-end UI and UX implementation.
  • Expertise with code versioning technologies like Git, Mercurial, or SVN.
  • Extensive familiarity with OOP concepts, Design Patterns, Algorithms, Multi-threading, and data structures to connect to back-end services.
  • Prior experience developing Android applications.
  • Practical knowledge of JSON/XML and RESTful web services.
  • Working familiarity with a variety of third-party SDKs and integrations.
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Experience developing mobile applications for the federal government.
  • Cross Platform knowledge such as Flutter or React Native.
  • Knowledge of the core iOS APIs, frameworks, features, UI styles, and paradigms.
  • Knowledge of Apple's design tenets and interface standards.
  • Prior experience developing Swift or iOS apps.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
