Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for our Korea site.
Location: Pyeongtaek, South Korea
Mission/role:
We support the "Eighth Army which is America's Pacific Guardians of Freedom." Our team supports C4I functions for the Eighth Army Headquarters and seven Major Subordinate Commands to include tactical communications for multiple theater-level exercises and training events. Eighth Army today stands ready to defend our national interests and those of our allies whenever called upon.
In this role, you will:
- Provide engineering support for Wide Area Network (WAN) services; to include the provision, monitoring, and management of voice and data multiple networks that interconnect two or more separate facilities that span a geographic area larger than a campus or metropolitan area.
- Transmission technologies include, but are not limited to:
- Dedicated Internet connections
- Internet-based Virtual Private Networks
- Circuit activation
- WAN Acceleration Hardware/Software
- Identity Service Engine (Cisco ISE)
- Black Core
- Commercial and Korea specific network connections
- Provide engineering support for Local Area Network (LAN) services; to include the provision, monitoring, and management of networks that are usually confined to a single facility or portion of a facility. LAN components may include wired and wireless LANs supporting all network traffic originating from desktop devices, local file and print servers, application servers, database servers, peripherals, firewalls/routers, other network devices and other user premise devices.
- Provide security to physical and logical devices connected to the networks; implement measures to reduce network infrastructure cost and risk; maintain robust security through regular, timely network software upgrades; and establish best practices for easier migration to IP technologies such as unified communications.
- Plan, design, and execute 8A tactical network support requirements; to include physical and network security standards (i.e., PDS, TEMPEST, COMSEC, and OPSEC).
- Perform and complete all engineering, integration, and project management requirements for all funded projects involving new and/or additional tactical network infrastructure installations and upgrades.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field and 2 years of experience. An additional four continuous years performing Network Engineering tasks may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 3 recent/current years performing Network Engineering tasks/work.
- Active CCNA or CCNP certification (subject to verification).
- Active DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (i.e. Sec+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP) (subject to verification).
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active Secret security clearance.
DESIRED:
- Minimum Background Investigation complete NALC\T3 with SSBI\T5 initiated.
Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
