Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Network Engineer supporting the Virginia customer
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Designs and plans network communications systems.
- Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
- Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Conducts testing of network design.
- Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
- Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
- May be assigned responsibility for the management of the systems administration function, including associated staff.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
- Active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph required.
- Years experience need to be professional and technical experience.
- BS degree in relevant field of study - Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related scientific or technical discipline.
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
- Experience providing tactical communications support to IC and/or DoD customers
- A technical knowledge and understanding of IC enterprise systems and/or ability to quickly grasp the systems architecture.
- Proven track record of success and achievement working in a fast paced environment with a demonstrated ability to balance work and multitask, during times of test, crisis or events.
- Experience as a Microsoft Server and/or Microsoft SQL systems administrator.
- IT, networks and telecommunication experience.
- Experience operating/maintaining HF/VHF/UHF radio systems.
- Experience operating/maintaining fixed and mobile satellite communication systems.
- Experience with various GOTS secure phones and commercially available satellite and cell phones.
- COMSEC equipment and custodian experience is required.

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
