Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Network Integration Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual will be responsible for designing and planning network communications systems.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools. for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
  • Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Setup and configuration of equipment for vendor test events.
  • Perform routine checks and calibration of specialized IT equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to lab users experiencing technical difficulties.
  • Create and maintain user guide to help users navigate lab equipment and network connections.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of lab equipment and licenses within a development and production environment.
  • Installation, configuration, and administration of virtual infrastructures operating on Microsoft Server 2019.
  • Document, install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows based applications and services on Windows based laptops and desktops.
  • Maintain systems and parts inventory of vendor equipment in preparation for test events.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience or Associate’s degree and 10 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years relevant experience.  
  • U.S. Citizenship, must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Network architecture expertise.
  • Experience working in a professional security environment balancing multiple tasks and prioritizing.
  • Experience working in an information technology lab environment and enterprise server platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and products (Word, Excel, and Teams).
  • Knowledge of Incident Management ticketing systems such as Remedy and ServiceNow.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to contribute to a much larger team ensuring Mission Critical Facilities issues and customer requests are met in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to communicate with engineers and on-site customer leadership.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
