Responsibilities
Peraton is looking for an Open Research Analyst to join our talented team in Norfolk, VA. The candidate will be a part of a team who supports the Naval Information Warfighting Development Center (NIWDC) in the development of doctrine and concepts of operations (CONOPS).
What you'll do:
- The candidate will assist in design, planning and conducting of Fleet Experimentation events by participating in warfighting effectiveness assessments, identifying warfighting capability and capacity gaps that support Information Warfare solution development both afloat and ashore.
- The candidate shall support NIWDC in developing doctrine and pre-doctrinal concepts through research of exercise and operational lessons learned and then incorporating the results into finished publications.
- Experience representing leadership while attending fleet experimentation conferences and working groups. Able to articulate command plans and objectives.
- Also, they will coordinate with team members in the scheduling and managing of multiple Experimentation events to include war games, table top, exercises, workshops and demonstrations, and the execution of the NIWDC’s mission areas of C2, Cyberspace Operations, Electronic Warfare, Information Operations, Intelligence, Space, and Meteorology.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in Information Warfare in one or more of the following areas: Assured C2, Battlespace Awareness or Integrated Fires.
Some CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- Education: 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, 3 years with PHD,HS degree and 12 years of applicable experience will be acceptable.
- Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
- Familiarity with Navy publication style procedures/manuals especially as they apply to tactical publications and doctrine
- Experience in Navy Training, Exercises and Experimentation to include identification of lessons learned.
- Familiarity with Navy publication style procedures/manuals especially as they apply to tactical publications and doctrine. This includes oversight of the NIWDC electronic library (Collaborative Information Environment).
- Experience reviewing doctrine and other pre-doctrinal documents to ensure standardization of information warfare (IW) concepts and terminology.
- Experience preparing experiment and exercise documentation to include test plans, quicklook reports, final experiment reports, information papers, lessons learned, and PowerPoint presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using DoD websites and the collaborative information environment (CIE) to access documents for fleet experimentation planning.
- Possess an understanding of classification policies and advise leadership on the releasability of products to foreign governments to include coalition partners and allies.
Target Salary Range
$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
