Responsibilities
Part-time/On-Call Sr Behavioral Research Scientist
Location: Remote
Peraton is currently seeking a Sr Behavioral Research Scientist for our PERSEREC program on a part-time/on-call (hourly) basis. (This will be an hourly paid role for each hour worked)
The primary role for this part-time / on-call position is to serve as a course facilitator/instructor for behavioral threat assessment and management training.
We are looking for a well-qualified candidate with a minimum of 12 years of experience with the following:
- Work experience on a threat assessment team.
- Work with cases involving concerning behavior (e.g., threats, suicidal ideation, stalking, domestic violence, workplace violence, and bias-motivated criminal activity that involves attacks on intentionally selected targets).
- Identifying and assessing threats through electronic media/Internet (e.g. anonymous, platforms, social media, written word).
- Use of Structured Professional Judgement Tools.
- Conduct case associated interviews.
- Mitigation of cases involving potential threats (e.g., victim intervention and protective planning, referrals for professional evaluation and services, law enforcement intervention, third party monitoring and intervention, and ongoing monitoring and reassessment of dynamic situations).
- Behavioral threat assessment and management in the prevention of targeted violence.
- Current research and advancements in threat assessment.
- Threat assessment policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
- Experience working on a threat assessment team.
- Experience working with cases involving concerning behavior (e.g., threats, suicidal ideation, stalking, domestic violence, workplace violence, and bias-motivated criminal activity that involves attacks on intentionally selected targets).
- Demonstrated ability in identifying and assessing threats through electronic media/Internet (e.g. anonymous, platforms, social media, written word).
- Experience using Structured Professional Judgement Tools.
- Experience conducting case associated interviews.
- Experience with mitigation of cases involving potential threats (e.g., victim intervention and protective planning, referrals for professional evaluation and services, law enforcement intervention, third party monitoring and intervention, and ongoing monitoring and reassessment of dynamic situations).
- Experience in and with behavioral threat assessment and management in the prevention of targeted violence.
- Experience in performing current research and advancements in threat assessment.
- Threat assessment policies and procedures experience.
- Being amenable and available on a part-time/on-call basis as needed.
- U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Target Salary Range
$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
