Peraton is seeking an experienced Power Systems – Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our talented team of technical and business experts providing key operational and mission support to a SI/SETA mission for a customer in Virginia. Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Engineering and Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for the technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/O&M).

The Power Systems SME will apply their specialized knowledge, skills and experience in industrial power systems, power distribution and infrastructure. The candidate has a solid understanding of various aspects of systems and electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization. The candidate will:

• Advise and support a wide range of operational activities and will be expected to actively engage with a variety of customers and stakeholders.
• Respond and support evolving and dynamic mission-critical activities and provide any requirement and strategies for current/future operations.
• Have confidence in troubleshooting independently or with a team, using observability tools and service logs.
• Have a solid proactive approach of various security tool sets to assess, hunt, and remediate threats.
• Utilize data-driven metrics and be able to analyze system and operational performance. Ideally, the candidate will have familiarity in designing, implementing, and managing electrical infrastruture. This will include expertise in various aspects of power systems engineering tailored to the unique requirements of the customer and stakeholders.
• Have strong communication skills providing detailed deliverables which will include reporting and recommendations, to the classified customer and all levels of stakeholders.
• Be a leader and oversee projects, developing strategies safeguarding the reliability and longevity of enterprise infrastructure and deliver solutions to ensure alignment with customer requirements.

 The ideal Power Systems SME candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be a self-starter who will take initiative for helping manage key parts of complex technical developments, possess a desire and ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects, and be willing and able to aggressively learn the activities and focus of the organization. 

Required Qualifications: 

• An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• A minimum of ten (10+) years of experience within power systems for a government customer.
• A minimum of two (2+) years of experience providing services for an engineering-related mission involving either cyber operations, communications, supply chain expertise, military tracking, and/or deep-sea support.
• Undergraduate in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.
