Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experience Senior Project Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. 

 

This position is located in Tallahassee, Florida

 

As a Project Manager for the Department’s Office of Agriculture Technology Services (OATS), Project and Portfolio Management OffPPMO(PPMO), your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing the planning, design, development, and implementation of IT projects. You will contribute to strategic planning and portfolio management, ensuring alignment with the department’s goals. Additionally, you will support operational improvements withinPPMO PPMO and manage solution development efforts, including custom software development, Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementations, Microsoft Power Platform solutions, and data management initiatives.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Program Management Plans and Project Management Plans within the timeframe specified
    by the Contract or Functional Manager.
  • Review the approved Program/Project Management Plan throughout the PO term.
  • Prepare Legislative Budget RequeLBR (LBR), Statements of Work (SOW), Operational Work PlaOWP
    (OWP), and similar documentation for assigned projects.
  • Prepare the Microsoft (MS) Project schedule or equivalent schedule. Submit the MS Project
    schedule or an equivalent schedule to the Department’s Contract Manager or Functional Manager
    for approval.
  • Review the project schedule regularly. Send any changes or risks to the Department’s Contract
    Manager or Functional Manager for review and approval prior to implementation.
  • Populate and maintain the RAID Log(s) throughout the PO term, and various other project
    documentation templates.
  • Comply with OATS Administrative Policies and Procedures by working directly with the Department’s
    Contract Manager throughout the PO term.
  • PreISDM ISDM or SDF documentation to ensure project compliance with OATS policies and procedures.
  • Apprise OATS stafISDM ISDM or SDF information as directed by the Department’s Contract Manager.
  • Oversee and manage the development and storage of project technical documentation.
  • Ensure work complies with OATS policies, procedures, and technical standards as provided by the Department’s Contract Manager or Functional Manager.
  • Ensure technical documentation facilitates the transfer of knowledge to Department staff for system maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Functional Managers to obtain and maintain resources as required by the Department’s Contract Manager or Functional Manager.
  • Lead the Project Team by assigning tasks to appropriate resources and ensuring program/project artifacts and documentation evidencing deliverables are created and maintained.
  • Manage the process of revising program/project scope, budget, and schedule to meet the Department’s needs.
  • Document and manage program/project communications, scope, schedule, and budget to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and meets quality expectations.
  • Evaluate, track, and report identified risks to the Department’s Contract Manager.
  • Work with the Project Team to develop and implement risk response strategies, resolving or escalating issues as needed.
  • Apprise Stakeholders of risks and issues affecting the project, and provide recommended solutions when escalating.
  • Communicate relevant information to the Project Team and Stakeholders through formal and informal status reporting, ensuring proper grammar, consistent font styles, and proofread documentation.
  • Facilitate meetings throughout the term of the PO.
  • Mentor and coach more junior team members.
  • Review required documentation evidencing the deliverable for completeness and correctness before
    submitting it to the program/project team and Stakeholders.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience or a Masters degree and 6 years of experience or a High School Diploma and 12 years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder. 
  • Must have a (PMP) Project Management Professional certification.
  • Leading custom software development projects, as well as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Power Platform development programs/projects.
  • Extensive IT Business/industry work experience.
  • Must have previous project management experience.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • Experience managing projects in accordance with PMI’s standards as presented in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide).
  • Experience developing program or project strategy, business cases, and enterprise-wide program/project plans.
  • Experience managing large, cross-divisional, and cross-functional software development programs/projects.

Preferred Experience:

  • Leading cloud solution development programs/projects utilizing low/no-code platforms.
  • Communicating with IT leadership and business leadership.
  • Facilitating requirements gathering and Joint Application Design sessions.
  • Preparing Legislative Budget Requests (LBR), Statements of Work (SOW), and Operational Work Plans (OWP).
  • Working with State Purchasing rules, processes, and documentation.
  • Managing Information Technology purchasing processes and practices.
  • Managing documentation in MS SharePoint.
  • Managing projects for a Florida state Information Technology PMO.
  • Creating a Solution Definition Framework or ISDM.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
