Program Overview
Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period.
About The Role

Peraton requires a Cable/Infrastructure Technician to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.

 

This position is located at Camp Smith, Hawaii.

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

 

Cable/Infrastructure Technicians require excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as the ability to terminate, test and troubleshoot secure/non-secure voice, video, data and radio frequency cable infrastructure. Requires relevant training, as well as hands-on experience working with cable infrastructure. The Technician assists with installing, testing, and maintaining the secure/non-secure voice, video, data, and radio frequency cable infrastructure in close coordination with the Government. The Technician shall perform its work in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, directives, and industry best practices for installing telecommunications cable infrastructure

 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Install, replace, repair, remove, terminate, and test new and existing LAN cabling in accordance with applicable policies and industry best practices.
  • Maintain cable infrastructure labeling standards in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and directives.
  • Installing new cable.
  • Terminating and testing new cable.
  • Testing and troubleshooting faulty cable.
  • Cross-connecting circuits using patch panels.
  • Maintaining core datacenter infrastructure; following cabling and organization standards.
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years with a HS Diploma; 10 years with AS/AA; 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD
  • TS/SCI level clearance is required.
  • At least two years of hands-on experience working with cable infrastructure.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

Desired Qualifications

  • DoDD 8570 01-M IAT II or higher certification
  • BICSI Installer 2, Copper OR BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber certification.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
