Responsibilities

Peraton’s Procurement organization is seeking a Subcontractor Director to lead a team of experienced subcontracts management leaders and professionals and provide primary leadership supporting one of our largest Sectors. The Subcontracts Director will report into the Chief Procurement Officer and be responsible for the following:

  • Manage and provide leadership of the Sector subcontracts function for the full life cycle subcontract management activities including but not limited to: Proposal support activity, negotiations of non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, preparation of solicitation packages to subcontractors, analyses and evaluation of subcontractor proposals, negotiations of subcontract provisions, award of subcontracts, subcontract administration, issue resolution and closeout activities. 
  • Partner with sector team to develop strategies for competitions, negotiations, and managing subcontractor performance.
  • Oversee and manage overall subcontract compliance for programs within the Sector in accordance with contract requirements, company policies and procedures, and applicable laws and acquisition regulations.
  • Improve productivity, optimize cost-efficiency and align with Sector and Subcontract strategies to optimize value, support change management and process improvement initiatives whenever needed. Advocate and foster data quality and precision within systems and tools.
  • Coordinate closely with Sector President, Sector Contracts Director, Sector Financial Officer and Chief Procurement Officer to ensure subcontracting activities are carried out in a manner consistent with prime contract requirements and operational objectives, collaborating on and driving resolution of procurement issues impacting contract or company performance.
  • Manage subcontracts professionals in executing day to day activities, providing training, conducting performance reviews, establishing developmental actions, providing mentorship to a team with varied levels of proficiencies and that is geographically dispersed.   In some cases, participate in day-to-day subcontract activities for priority programs and captures or in support of escalations.
  • Ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal subcontracting within an Approved Purchasing System, possess strong verbal, technical, and organizational skills, demonstrate enthusiasm for driving improvements and efficiencies, and have a high degree of self-motivation and determination to succeed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field plus a minimum of 12 years (Master’s with 10 years) of related work Experience working as a Subcontracts professional in the federal contracting in positions of progressive responsibility, including 5+ years of experience managing employees.
  • Additional work expereince may be considered in lieu of degree. 
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance and willingness/ability to be processed for additional agency-specific clearances.
  • An in-depth knowledge about federal government subcontracting, to include federal acquisition process and regulations.
  • Business acumen with ability to think critically and develop creative and practical solutions.
  • Strong background in supporting Contractors’ Purchasing System Reviews (CPSR).
  • Strong negotiation background.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Highly adaptable to change; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-moving environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to employees and management at all levels.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
