Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior level Systems Engineer for Sensor Integration Engagement to provide both coordination and systems engineering expertise to accelerate the adoption of new Technologies into the NSG enterprise.  The candidate is responsible, in consultation with the DD AOC, to work with relevant subject matter experts in Analysis and Research to coordinate participation in sensor integration activities.  They shall work with all Analysis stakeholders (along with other acquisition offices in CIO-T, Research and elsewhere) to document the enduring sensor integration needs and verify work developed and sustained by the appropriate IPA projects.   

 

This position will report directly to the Deputy Director for the Office of Weapons and Counterproliferation (AOC).

 

Duties include:

  • Provide input to and help to draft/review sections of utility assessments for new sensors.
  • Work to decompose sensor integration activities into enduring requirements and engage with IPA product managers to see those requirements implemented in the enterprise baseline.
  • Engage with mission customers and users to shape and define future capabilities.
  • Participate in customer and program strategic and tactical planning activities.
  • Participate in the development of system architectures to evolve mission services.
  • Assess new technologies that have the potential to support sensor integration for fit-for-use by mission services, employing quantifiable and traceable criteria to enable future decision making.
  • Conduct AoAs and provide data-driven recommendations
  • Identify project key decision points and provide Go/No-Go recommendations.
  • Conduct user outreach to communicate planned architecture changes, operational concepts, and project status, and accept user inputs for optimization of delivery plans.
  • Produce weekly activity reports for use by government customers and the program.
  • Develop and present effective technical presentations to senior management and to technical/non-technical audiences; must possess strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Explain technical issues clearly/accurately to technical/non-technical audiences; and conduct issue coordination within and across agencies.
  • Work with customers to resolve technical and programmatic issues
Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Mathematics / Physical Sciences / Engineering.
  • 12+ years of systems engineering, systems integration, or systems development experience is required and may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, SAFe Agile acquisition product ownership, merging disparate architectures, CONOPS development, automation and computer vision, conducting imagery and/or geospatial analysis.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning or workflow automation.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science / Mathematics / Physical Sciences / Engineering or related technical experience
  • At least two years’ experience within the last 5 years with artificial intelligence, machine learning or workflow automation
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more disciplines of GEOINT analytic tradecraft and analysis production system development
  • 2+ years of experience in government acquisition processes
  • 1+ years of experience in agile Systems development
  • Demonstrated experience with efforts to manage the development and improvement of sensors and system architecture.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
