Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer Team Lead with expertise in Platform Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) in maintaining its information technology (IT) enterprise infrastructure. This individual will have a background in Dev Ops concepts.

 

Remote role.  Must be local to the DC Metro area.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and analyze workloads that are running in public and private cloud environments.

  • Monitor performance and throughput, setting baselines for acceptable performances standards while teams develop new solutions.
  • The Systems Engineer will focus on platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a reliable, secure, and scalable platforms.
  • Lead the design and implementation of the organization's platform infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and recommend platform technologies to meet business needs.
  • Configure and optimize platform components for performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate platform solutions with existing systems.
  • Implement monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of the platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Implement security measures to protect the platform from potential threats.
  • Ensure platform compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Create and maintain documentation for platform configurations, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Active Directory structures based on organizational requirements.
  • Configure and manage Active Directory components, including domains, forests, and trusts.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years’ experience or Master’s degree and 6 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years' relevant experience.
  • 5 years experience developing and architecting platform-based solutions.
  • Significant experience with DevOps concepts.

  • Working knowledge of  public and private cloud environments.
  • Expertise working with virtualization, storage and enterprise backup solutions using automation technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory technologies.
  • Expertise with application streaming and desktop virtualization technologies.
  • Must have strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Current Microsoft Certification required.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
