Responsibilities
Peraton is hiring a Terrestrial SIGINT Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.
As a Terrestrial SIGINT Systems Engineer on our team, you will support a customer terrestrial sensors team in tracking, monitoring and facilitating planning for the deployment, upgrade, and replacement of Terrestrial SIGINT collection and processing systems. You will:
- Capture and document the requirements for the new and updated systems as well as coordinate and track the sensor projects from requirements, analysis of alternatives, sensor buildout, deployment, and installation, testing and transition to operations.
- Participate in numerous meetings, working groups, and integrated product teams, product reviews, and status meetings to monitor the systems engineering plans, development, and deployment of space and ground processing systems.
- Work closely with government Systems Engineers to support the reengineering of the existing SIGINT ground architecture to facilitate the elimination of collection/processing stovepipes and replace the deprecated systems with collections/processing systems that support automation, dynamic tasking, multi-access cross-cueing and orchestration.
- Produce system engineering and technical documentation, develop master schedules, and support validation and verification activities.
- Provide exercise support as needed to assist in the development and testing of new capabilities.
- Provide support for the integration of new commercial RF space capabilities as needed.
- Serve as liaison to critical personnel in monitoring the state of project development milestones.
Qualifications
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline and at least 15 years of systems engineering experience. A Master’s or PhD Degree may be substituted for two years of experience. Note: A High School Diploma or GED plus 19 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
- Knowledge of National SIGINT technologies, capabilities, their associated system architectural components (i.e. space systems, ground stations, ground processing systems), and knowledge of the national collection requirements prioritization system and associated processes is critical.
- An understanding of the policy constraints associated with the conduct of lawful SIGINT operations is also critical to success.
- Must have Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:
- The ideal candidate would be SIGINT Systems Subject Matter Expert. They should be familiar with the end-to-end system including tasking, collection management, collection operations, processing and dissemination components and processes.
- They must be able to support re-engineering efforts that focus on automation, multi-access cross cueing, collaboration, and dynamic collection/processing orchestration.
- A familiarity with Overhead SIGINT systems collection management and architecture is useful, especially where they might employ best practices that may be suitable for adoption within the Terrestrial collection systems architecture.
- Candidate will be called upon to provide exercise support in conjunction with system development and testing new concepts and equipment.

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
