Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Test Engineering Supervisor to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals. The Test Engineering Supervisor works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.
Our Test Engineering Supervisor manages the day-to-day activities of the test engineering team. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Assigns projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group performed by Unionized, non-exempt and/or exempt employees. Specific tasks include:
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
- Perform analyse at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Design, develop, and modify system test plans
- Assist with implementation of test plan, associated specifications, and software change processes based on overall system requirements
- Provide initial technical support in assessments of determining repairable item status based on system requirements
- Represent the organization as a subject matter expert and provides customer support in the system engineer discipline
- Assist in reviewing procedures to ensure that the test and repair process is complete
- Reviews and evaluates failure data received from field locations, and offers recommendations for resolutions
- Extensive contact with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts
- Conduct briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics operations. Performs other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with 6 years experience
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Related work experience and ability to lead a small team in a fast paced complex engineering environment
- Experience in aspect of design, development, research, new product introduction (NPI), technical documentation, configuration management
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Knowledge of Teradyne LASAR, Test Studio and LabWindows software, boundary scan (JTAG) or other industry standard software packages
Preferred Qualifications:
- Depot level repair experience
- Familiar with USPS maintenance operations
- Root Cause and Corrective action (RCCA) failure analysis
- Prior management experience in a Union environment
- Proficient project management skills
- CAD package Altium Designer, and AutoCAD Inventor
- Structured programming knowledge such as Basic, C, C++, ATEasy, Python, Visual Basic, experience with Assembly language
- Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training
- Green Belt Certified
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Physical activity may include forklift operation, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and repetitive motion
- Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment and to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures
Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
