Responsibilities

We are seeking a Windows System Architect to engineer and operate Windows Infrastructure and Platform as a Service offerings. 

  • Support US Marine Corps (USMC) enterprise-level hybrid cloud data center and Enterprise Information Services SharePoint operations
  • Enable USMC world-wide customers to execute critical missions 

Location:  Onsite in Kansas City, Missouri 

 

What you will do:

As a Windows Systems Architect and Windows Team Lead you will be responsible for planning, engineering, operating, and maintaining the Windows Platform as a Service capabilities as well as associated hybrid cloud datacenter infrastructure such as Active Directory Domains; DNS; Secure FTP services; InfoBlox; and various management, monitoring and automation tools. You will support system operations, hardening, migration capabilities, customer interaction and support, patching, and gov-cloud migration and operations.

  • Responsible for physical and virtual MS Windows Servers (clustered and standalone) administration, operational support and problem resolution;
  • Administers Domains supporting hybrid-cloud datacenter in support of enterprise-wide operations; develops management and monitoring tools and protocols to manage domains
  • Works with various vendors to install, upgrade, configure and administer software/features/options;
  • Performs software and firmware installation and upgrades;   Responsible for developing and maintaining scripts for patching and upgrades
  • Monitors system performance and capacity;
  • Serves as Tier 3 support for Windows systems operations; Troubleshoots problems, takes appropriate corrective action and/or interacts with IT staff or vendors in performing complex testing, support and troubleshooting functions.
  • Participates in Agile project planning, sprints and scrums to plan and prioritize Windows platform work
  • Participates in ITSM/ITIL process flows for planning and authorizing work
  • Requires On-Call support in rotation with other team members and occasional after hours/weekend scheduled work for maintenance activities.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

 

HS +16years, Bachelors +12 years, Master's +10, PHD +7

  • US Citizen, TOP SECRET Clearance (Tier 5 (SSBI) investigation)
  • IAT III Certification
  • Candidate must be of a senior level and have experience in MS Windows Server 2019 and later, Active Directory Domain Management and Access Management, Active Directory, Directory Services, PowerShell, SCCM/MECM, RDS, GPO, DNS, Cluster Services.   
  • Requires Azure or AWS experience (certification desired)
  • Experience in providing Platform as a Service Windows Server capabilities in a datacenter/cloud-hosted environment desired.
  • Must have experience operating in a virtualized environment with VMWare experience desired including VMWare vRealize Operations Suite (VSphere, vCM, Automation, Operations Manager), Dell Blade System (or similar hardware platform), and log analysis tools.  NSX-T experience desired.
  • Must have experience with backup architecture such as NetBackup or cloud-native backup,
  • Microsoft Server certification desired
  • Experience administering SQL databases desired
  • Experience with Linux and Oracle platform operations desired
  • Experience operating in matrix teams in an Agile Project Management structure
  • Requires Azure or AWS fundamentals

DESIRED:

  • AWS or Azure Cloud Practitioner, Administrator, Architect certification

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
