Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Wintel Windows Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual will have experience with Wintel Integrated Test Environment (ITE) supporting the Core Services team for operations and engineering in the test environments. The Wintel engineer will be responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of the Wintel operating systems in the test environments.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Wintel servers (2016-2019) in the ITE test environments
- Participate in incident management activities for Wintel servers
- Configuring and maintain successful backups for Wintel servers
- Participate in defining Wintel server requirements, acquisition, installation, and configuration
- Knowledge of Microsoft administration tools
- Participate in the documentation of activities, system changes, procedures, policies, and standards for the Wintel architecture
- Setting up and maintaining Wintel server accounts
- Manage installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and provide configuration and enhancements
- Involved in implementation of security measures on Wintel servers
- Provide technical expertise, respond to taskings, etc.
- Work closely with IT operation delivery teams, project managers, solution engineers, test engineers, and government counterparts to ensure approved scheduled maintenance is completed
- Interact with the customer on an as needed basis regarding Wintel servers
- Communicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to management in a timely manner

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor degree and 5 years’ experience or Associate degree and 7 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 9 years' experience
- U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
- Experience with Wintel servers (2016-2019)
- Experience with ITE test environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft administration tools
- Strong understanding of change, release, and configuration management, and their interaction
- Knowledge of Client business environment and requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ServiceNow
- Knowledge of security fundamentals
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals
- Knowledge of cloud operations
- Possess an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations 4 certification or the ability to obtain within one month
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgment
- Ability to work effectively in a distributed work environment/self-starter
Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
