Yes, select programs within Peraton offer both fall semester and spring semester co-op positions.
We typically staff those positions a year in advance.
At Peraton, the only difference between an internship and a co-op is the duration.
• Interns are typically conducted during the 10-week summer portion: June to August.
• Co-Ops are typically during a Fall (August to December) or Spring (January to May) Semester.
The work provided by both interns and co-ops remains consistent; interns and co-ops are embedded with the full-time team providing direct support to a Peraton customer project or functional area.
Yes, based on your university’s requirements, you can get course credit for completing a Peraton internship or Co-Op. UR&R, or your direct manager, can complete the necessary documentation as required by your university.
While Peraton takes into consideration your current location and your location desires, ultimately the location of your internship is dictated by the program/project supported and will be communicated to you well in advance prior to the internship beginning.
Peraton projects/teams have varying environments:
• 100% remote
• Hybrid: half remote, half onsite
• 100% onsite
Security clearance is dictated by the project supported.
Should a security clearance be required for your project, Peraton will sponsor the necessary security clearance for you, if you do not already have one.
Peraton hosts a plethora of intern events throughout the summer. Events range from Intern Orientation, Friday Lunch & Learns, Tech Talks, Social/Networking Gatherings, Resume Workshops, etc.
Intern events are voluntary events as no charge codes are available. However, the information provided during Intern events are incredibly beneficial and attendance is highly encouraged.
Interns are non-exempt, hourly paid employees and do not receive paid time off, paid holidays or benefits.
The ultimate goal of Peraton is to convert as many interns to full-time employees post-graduation as possible. Many of our rising seniors are offered full-time roles to begin after graduation. Ultimately, a full-time opportunity depends on business need and your performance. Historically, Peraton has ~40% conversation rate of converting eligible interns to full-time Peraton employees.
